This series began as self-portraits made from memory. Rather than a likeness, identity emerges through gesture, proportion, posture, the errors of the material and recurring bodily signals.

Their small size matters. These are not studies for larger sculptures, but figures on an intimate scale, facing a disproportionately large world. Hands become a language of their own: pointing, refusing, defending, attacking — continuing to speak when ordinary language no longer works.
